We are sad to report that Aunt Zelda passed away Wednesday, May 6th.
She was a real fighter and the life of any gathering. She will be missed.
Our condolences to Uncle Nate, Marilyn, Jerry and their families.

Helene & Marc had the opportunity to take a fantastic tour from
Hong Kong to New Zealand that was part work & part vacation. Marc
was teaching a internal course for ConocoPhillips in Jakarta and Perth.
The other stops were all vacation. There is a small subset of the photos

- Elyse
and I finally connected and I have been able to post some photos
of Daniele's Bat Mitzvah, which was as far back as February. The
Bat Mitzvah girl is beautiful and I heard she did a great job. I selected
a few pictures to summarize the event, but you will find links to more
to satisfy your curiousity.

- Debbie sent
some pictures
of the family activities in December. Todd was back from Iraq for Thanksgiving
through Christmas & Chanukah. They drove to Austin, where they lived
when they were first married and explored the Univ. of TX there. Included
are some fun photos of the kids and a new family member.

- I spoke with
Uncle Nate and Aunt Zelda this past weekend and found out that they
celebrated their 64th wedding aniversary on December 12th (think that
is the right date), 2008 - Wow.

- Helene
and Marc went to Hawaii over Thanksgiving to celebrate the wedding of
our friend's daughter to a native Hawaiian. A group went from Sugar
Land and we had a great time partying and exploring Kauai together.

turned one on November 13th. There is nothing like that first taste

folks like it hot. Graham went to Cancun this past March. He took Sonya
and Alec along to handle the arrangements. Looks like everyone had fun.

- It's
winter in Minnesota. What does one do? Well in Neil's case it's ice
fishing. One could not live off of the proceeds, but it looks like fun.

- Albert
turned 90 on June 1st. A small party was held at Ventura's restaurant
(see photos).
Other celebrations have been held at Sbar's (more
photos) and will continue throughout the summer.

Family Pesach seders were held on the east coast at Mindy & Ben's
and in Arizona at Rachel & Bryan's. We all ate a lot and enjoyed
just being together with other family members. A few photos
of each celebration are attached.

- Marc
managed a business trip to Beijing in May. He did a little sightseeing
along the way to help in the time zone transition (13 hours). Some photos

ran his first 10k. Pretty good for a guy with large, flat feet. A fantastic

- Phil & Sharon;
Jon & Anita; John, Shelley & Aaron all piled into at least one
airplane and headed off to Tibet via China. They have sent me a selection

this rugged and very different place.

was baptised October 7th, in Toronto, the new home of Mike and Jenn.

- The
Rosenblums, the Rogers, Albert & Florence gathered at the Rosenblum's
for Yom Kippur this past September. A few snapshots
of the folks are attached.

- Neil
rode an MS150 from Duluth to Minneapolis in two days in June, 2007.
The team raised over $3500 for multiple sclerosis. Pictures
of the riders are attached.

- Elijah
Samuel, son of Eric & Missy, was born Saturday, August 25th at 6:30am.
He weighed in at 7lbs 12 oz. and was 19 1/2" long. Everyone is
doing well. Go to here are some early pictures.

- Helene
& Marc visited Costa Rica for a week in March. It is a fascinating
country with a enormous variety of plant and animal life. The people
were friendly and you can drink the water and eat the food everywhere
without problem. In addition to all of that it is beautiful. A few of

- Joanna
completed her course work for her B.A. at the University of Colorado,
Colorado Springs in December, 2006. The formal graduation will occur
in the spring. She finished with a 3.34 GPA majoring in English with
a Communication minor. She now has a job as a technical writer for Aesbus
Knowledge Solutions. They write the manuals for HP products (like calculators
or printers, for example) in Colorado Springs. Pictures
of the event are now here.

and Missy have sent pictures
of the happenings at their place in May. Keeana had a graduation
from preschool and will start kindergarten next year and Rachel, Helene,
Taryn and Lily paid them a visit. Driving from Scottsdale to Temple
City.

is growing and getting exposed to the important things in life. Mike
and Jenn take him to visit the Stanley Cup (the epitome of ice hockey).

portion of the east coast family gathered at Ben & Mindy's for Pesach.
Neil conducted the seder. Both Ben & Neil provided the attached

& Lois organized a cruise to the Carribean on the Carnival Triumph.
Most of their kids and grandkids made it. Also Al went along with Bess.

It seemed Graham was the center of attention on this trip.

- The Rosenblum's
continued what has become a family tradition by hosting Rosh Hashonah
this year. Much of the east coast segment of the family gathered. It

has graduated from the Navy's Defense Language Institute in Monteray,
CA. He will soon move to Georgia (US) where he will be stationed. He
also got married on Aug 5th to Jennifer Linchy. Photos

- Neil Beggs
flew down under to spend May - July with his Aunt Buffy in Canberra.
She is Joe's sister. He sent back an entertaining note and we have one

- Alan, Evelyn,
Alayna and Ian enjoyed their last days in Europe doing some touring.
I have attached a few pictures
of their trip to Tuscany, Italy and Innsbruck, Austria and Wuerzburg,
Germany in May, 2006.

- Eric Ian Sbar
has sent me some pictures
of his family. We welcome them to the Family Web Site. For those who
may not know Eric is the eldest son of Richard and Sandy. Since we have
two Eric's we'll have to use their middle names. I will add their info
to the family tree. For now here are some notes about them.
- Laura Cola and
Eric were married on November 30, 2003, and now live in Bala Cynwyd,
PA. Laura is a pharmacist at Lankenau Hospital. They welcomed Rachel
Sophia to their family on April 8, 2005. Eric is now Medical Director
in Oncology at PharmaNet, a contract research organization based in
Princeton. He is involved in medical monitoring of clinical research
trials and certification of physicians who are using different radioimmunotherapies.

Alayna and Ian have moved from Germany to 1906
Silver Creek Rd., Manitowoc, WI 54220. Alan is now out of the Army and
he and Evelyn will join a medical group in Manitowoc.

- Winnie received
her MD on June 2 from Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia. She
will start her residency on the 12th also at Jefferson.

- Eric and Missy
got married on April 23rd. Lots of family members were there and the
weather was beautiful, but a little chilly for an outdoor wedding. There
are lots of pictures
thanks to Joe & Jenn, Missy's brother Dave, Irwin Baron and the
wedding photographer.

- The Leace family,
Elyse, Ben, Daniele & David, went skiing at Park City, Utah, between
Christmas & New Years'. The kids really increased their skill level
and ended up skiing on black diamond trails. No word on how their parents
did. Photos
are attached.
- In other news
we learn that Daniele (10) is playing soccer on a travel team and successfully
competing against teams with girls 1-2 years older. David (8) is playing
guitar in a rock band and had his first public appearance at the Grape
Street Pub in the Manayunck section of Philadelphia. Elyse is very active
in Hadassah as well as keeping busy at her regular job at the Leace-Kapres
attorney search firm. Ben is working on improving his diving skills
with the addition of cave diving.

- Aunt Florence
had her second hip replacement this past February. She is recovering
well at home and will soon be as good as new.

- Our family
tree is getting too complicated, so I have created a summary page that
allows you to go directly to each family or to go to the groups of families
organized by age. Click the Family Tree button on the left. You will
find that some of the family trees have photos with them. This is a
long project and I need eveyone's help to add pictures where they can.
Please send me digital pictures if you can or you can easily get a valuable
old photograph scanned or copies made these days at drug stores or photo
shops.
